Age Group Champions at Ironman World Championships 2023: Results and Winners

A good 2,100 age groupers took on the challenge of the “Ironman World Championship”, more than half of whom were competing on the Big Island for the first time. These athletes were the fastest in their age group.

The overall victory among the age groupers was secured by the Frenchwoman Maelle Deruaz from the W25-29. After 9:14:12 hours she reached the destination at the Kailua-Kona pier. Second place overall went to Barbora Besperat (W30–34) from the Czech Republic. Her race lasted 9:19:52 hours. The Swiss Michelle Krebs finally followed in third place with a time of 9:25:10 hours. Krebs also became vice world champion in the W25-29. The Swiss had a total of three top ten results in the overall ranking: Laura Kessler and Livia Eggler took eighth and ninth place.

Katrin Esefeld (W40–44) crossed the finish line as the best German after 9:58:09 and 27th of all age groupers. In 28th place, Anja Fachbach (W35–39) also remained under the ten-hour mark with 9:58:31 hours. A total of five German athletes were able to be happy about placing in the top 5 of their age group. They will be recognized at the official awards ceremony on Sunday and can take the famous wooden bowl home as a trophy.
