Again, fake e-mails written in the name of the police are spreading

They wrote that letters with untrue content appear time and time again, in which police chiefs are identified as the senders and which call for answers containing personal information.

Several signs point to the fact that phishers are behind it – they highlighted, citing as examples: the text of the letter is written in bad Hungarian, the sender refers to non-existent organizations (National Police), or the sender signs the letter in the name of real persons, but the position is already is often wrong.

The ORFK stated: the police do not send letters with a threatening tone, do not communicate via the gmail mail system, but send letters through Customer Gate, Office Gate, Company Gate or official e-mail address, or by post.

They advise that if someone has doubts about the authenticity of the shipment, they should contact the organization listed as the sender, not through the address in the letter, but through the contact information on the official website of the police.
