New series in Bärenkino

With the film “Jurassic World – A New Age”, the Böblingen Film Center Bären, in cooperation with the Seegärtle restaurant and the PiG Stadtmagazin, celebrated the start of the “After Work Cinema” series.

Boeblingen. The event concept “After Work Cinema” is another possibility “to stage a visit to the cinema as an experience and event”, says Andreas Zienteck, Managing Director of the Böblinger Filmzentrum Bären: The opportunity to see blockbuster films on the big screen, with overwhelming sound and above all together with You can only experience other people who are enthusiastic about cinema in the cinema. The series is a joint idea of Röhm Medien, where the city magazine PiG is published, and Bärenkino.

Cinema as a community experience: This aspect is underlined by the “After Work Cinema”, where relaxed get-togethers before and after the film experience accompany it. In the event lounge of the cinema, the so-called “Filmwerk”, the guests are entertained by the Seegärtle team. “We offer our complete menu of food and drinks,” says Seegärtle landlord Uwe Hutfilz: “Anyone who wants to enjoy a good wine or a gin and tonic instead of popcorn and cola can do so,” says Uwe Hutfilz: “And before that or after the film you can order a delicious cheeseburger, among other things.” And: If you bring the voucher from the city magazine PIG, you get a glass of sparkling wine for free.

“I’ve been looking forward to the continuation of the Jurassic series for years,” says Patrick Böhmler, who snapped up PIG vouchers with his partner Silvi Jauß and friends Kathrin and Klaus Zimmermann to spend the evening at the cinema in “Filmwerk”. with a relaxed glass of sparkling wine.

She is enthusiastic about the idea of staging cinema as an event, says Silvi Jauß: “At the last carnival party we were dressed up as characters from the film ‘Avatar’.” Putting the whole evening under the motto of the respective film inspires the couple from Altdorf: “We recently saw the latest Bond film,” says Patrick Böhmler: “Of course in a tuxedo and evening dress.”

Andreas Zienteck promises that there will still be gala premieres for special film premieres. There are also plans to retain the open-air cinema that was revived last year. According to Andreas Zienteck, however, the exact concept has not yet been decided: Depending on the weather, there will be individual open-air film screenings at irregular intervals – or a two-week open-air film festival. “We will always try new ways of making a visit to the cinema an experience,” says cinema employee Meda Schultheis.
