After two outbreaks of bird flu today, Kiril Vatev announced: We are taking emergency measures – Agro Plovdiv – 2024-04-12 17:37:48

Just today, BABH announced two outbreaks of Influenza A – one is in a large industrial site for raising 390,000 broilers in the village of Voivodovo near the town of Haskovo, the other is in a backyard with hens, turkeys and turkeys in the village of Doborsko in Kardzhaliya. Two days earlier in Haskovo, an infection with the bird flu virus was detected in a poultry farm with 25,000 laying hens.

On this occasion, the MFA reported that Minister Kiril Vatev and the Executive Director of the Food Agency Svetlozar Patarinski held an emergency meeting with branch organizations from the poultry sector.

“We undertake emergency measures to stop the spread of Influenza A (Flu) among birds in our country. We do not underestimate the problem and we must do everything possible to help the sector”, said the Minister of Agriculture and Food Kiril Vatev.

Dr. Svetlozar Patarinski presented the specific measures being introduced by the Agency to stop the spread of the disease. Among the biosecurity measures that must be taken on the farm are: after the establishment of an outbreak, animals must not be kept in the site for 21 days in order to thoroughly clean and disinfect. Farmers should submit certified route plans for the movement of birds to other livestock facilities or slaughterhouses. Joint inspections will be carried out with other institutions to comply with the provided schedules for the movement of birds, as well as increased control at the entrance to meat processing plants will be carried out through a thorough clinical examination and verification of all required documents, including influenza samples.
