“Sky has repeatedly violated the ban on unauthorized telephone advertising and in some cases significantly annoyed consumers,” said the head of the regulatory authority, Jochen Homann.
Telephone advertising is only allowed in Germany if the person called has previously consented – for example, if he has previously surfed the Internet and inquired about certain products. The fine is not yet final, Sky could appeal.
