After the 11th and 3rd presidential elections in the United States, Donald Trump’s Twitter followers continued to decline, while President-elect Joe Biden’s followers continued to increase.

According to the Washington Post on the 11th (local time), President Trump’s Twitter followers have decreased by nearly 300,000 since the 17th of last month.

Currently, President Trump’s follower is 88.6 million, which is only a fraction of the decline, but considering the explosive increase so far, it is somewhat unusual. Previously, on January 20, 2017, when President Trump took office, there were 20.8 million followers, but it has more than quadrupled in less than four years.

Biden-elect has increased 1.9 million followers since the 17th of last month. However, Biden’s total followers are 20.9 million, which is still a quarter of President Trump.

For President Trump, Twitter served as a useful tool and weapon to communicate his position and arguments directly to the public. The government even revealed uncoordinated policies in tweets, and the authorities were even belatedly aware of President Trump’s policies and hurried to implement them.

President Trump posted a tweet alleging a fraudulent election after the defeat of the presidential election, and has received warning labels from Twitter for 317 tweets so far.

The slight decline in followers suggests that he will lose some of the strength of his online loudspeaker after Trump’s retirement, but it will still remain strong overall, the Washington Post said.
