Footballer Samuel Kalu is OK after the collapse in Sunday’s French League match in Marseille. The club said tests at the 23-year-old Nigerian national team did not reveal any heart problems.

“It looked worse than it was. Samuel Kalu may return to practice on Wednesday,” Girondins officials said on the club’s website. “No additional Tuesday examinations showed heart abnormalities and Kalu may be available for Sunday’s home game against Angers.”
Kalu collapsed in the sixth minute of a match played on a hot evening at Marseille’s Stade Velodrome. He even returned to the lawn shortly after the treatment, but he looked shaken and had to take turns shortly afterwards. His teammates erased the two-goal deficit in the match and drew 2: 2.

Kalu’s collapse was reminiscent of the health of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen at the June European Championships. An Inter Milan player had to be resuscitated and later underwent surgery to receive a cardioverter-defibrillator.
