The Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA) announced the closure of the vaccination point that was enabled in the Central Monoblock due to the low influx of people seeking to be immunized and that deepened after the Government decided to suspend the card requirement while the health emergency lasts.

In this place, 6,000 people were vaccinated, of which 1,100 are boys and girls.

“It is the last day, we have had more than 6,000 people as patients for vaccination, but we have also given them dry biosecurity to avoid any type of disease or infection. We gave them quality and warmth. In the process we had more than 1,100 children vaccinated in this sector”, informed the rector of the UMSA, Óscar Heredia.

The university authority pointed out that the attendance of people at this point decreased after “some government decisions.” On Wednesday, the Minister of Health, Jeyson Auza, reported that the requirement for the vaccination card was suspended for the duration of the health emergency.

“Today is the last day of vaccination, given that there are government decisions that have reduced the influx of people for vaccination and there are already too many points,” he said.

However, Heredia indicated that there is the possibility of reopening this vaccination point if necessary and stressed that UMSA is committed to working for the health and life of Bolivians.

During this vaccination period, doses of the Moderna vaccine were administered, both the first and third doses; Sputnik V in its second dose and the booster from AstraZeneca.

In addition, Sinopharm immunizers were applied to children between 5 and 11 years old and Pfizer to young people between 12 and 17 years old.
