The British government announced on Thursday sanctions against Eugene Tenenbaum, director of Chelsea. According to the British government, Tenenbaum has too close ties with Roman Abramovich, the club’s Russian owner against whom heavy measures have already been taken.
Sanctions were also imposed on David Davidovich, a business ally of Abramovich. The British government will freeze the assets of Tenenbaum and Davidovich, suspected of taking over Abramovich’s business interests when it was placed on the sanctions list.
“We continue to target a group of people close to the Kremlin,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. “We will continue these measures until Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has failed. »
