“Half an hour before noon, the rescue service operations center received information about a woman’s injury in Rudná pod Pradědem in the Bruntál region,” confirmed Lukáš Humpl, a spokesman for the Moravian-Silesian rescue service.
Rescuers immediately set out for the site in Bruntál, as well as a helicopter from Ostrava. According to witnesses, the rider was unconscious for a while, but after the ambulance arrived, she was already communicating.
“When she fell, the woman caused an open fracture of her left leg in the thigh area with an artery injury and extensive bleeding,” Humpl added.
Rescuers gave the injured patient painkillers, treated her leg and placed her in a vacuum mattress. The patient was then transported by helicopter to the emergency department of the University Hospital Ostrava.
