Less than a day after being eliminated by CRB in the quarter-finals of the Copa do Nordeste, Ceará announced this Friday, 25th, the dismissal of Tiago Nunes from the technical command of the team. The coach was ahead of Alvinegro de Porangabuçu for seven months and leaves the club with a 56% success rate.
In 32 games in charge of Ceará, the coach won 14 wins, 12 draws and suffered six defeats. Despite the good numbers, as the best overall campaign of the Nordestão group stage, Tiago Nunes’ team sinned by the excess of wasted chances in important clashes of the season, culminating in early eliminations in the regional competition and in the Ceará Championship.

With just over 10 days before the Copa Sudamericana debut, which will take place on April 5, 6 or 7 against Independiente-ARG, at Arena Castelão, the alvinegra board goes to the ball market in search of a new coach for the remainder of 2022.
