Paul is now together with 38-year-old personal trainer Laura Daalmeijer, mother of daughters Loïs and Jade. When it comes to monogamy, Paul feels he has a pretty bad track record. ‘I have seriously damaged a number of people and I still feel very guilty about that, but, as the English say: You can’t unscramble scrambled eggs. I made a mess of it,’ he told Trouw last year. ‘And I can’t forgive myself for that. It’s not like I’m beating myself up every day, I just didn’t do it right. I don’t want to say more about it. Not to avoid trouble, but because I don’t want to ever hurt others again.’ But: ‘I am naturally very bad at speaking the truth.’
Noise disturbance
Paul has started a new life with Laura. The singer left his rental home in Zaandam and recently moved in with her in Meppel. Last year Paul also bought an apartment in Meppel for 156,000 euros, where his sole proprietorship is registered. He may be using this house as a music studio because he doesn’t want to cause any noise nuisance in Laura’s place. For Paul, his move to Meppel means that he is not exactly near his ex-wife Carmen and their children Aram (21) and Ezra (18), who still live in the Zaan region.
