This year the crown crisis is not completely behind us, Brussels Airlines certainly felt it during the first months of the year. From January to June, Brussels Airlines recorded a loss of 89 million euros. But last summer was another peak period for the company. In July, August and September Brussels Airlines managed to achieve an operating profit of 51 million euros. “This is our strongest quarter ever,” said Nina Oewerdieck, Chief Financial Officer of Brussels Airlines.
Brussels Airlines is also confident that it can remain profitable. “Our company has proven that it can fly profitably, even in today’s challenging economic reality,” says Oewerdieck. “We have shown that we can turn around and I am convinced that we can make our future a success.” Due to the poor results at the beginning of the year, Brussels Airlines will still not be profitable in 2022. “But the profit is within reach”, it seems to him.
