After 14 years, a record number of players threw themselves into the game for an important upgrade

Probably Valve itself would not have thought that its free-to-play shooter, Team Fortress 2, would reach the top 14 years after its release, at least in terms of player numbers. A few hours ago, more than 147,000 people were shot at the servers at once, breaking the previous record set last December.

All of this is due to a major upgrade to Team Fortress 2 that the game recently received. Matchmaking has been unbearable for a long time, and Valve couldn’t really master the bots flooding the servers, the scammers, the fake players stealing names. However, this update seems to have successfully fixed the problem, which discouraged players.

This update also brought with it a bunch of summer cosmetic stuff, which also electrified the TF2 community, which was a good match for the patch despite the fact that it cut home a good couple of the game’s server modes.
