Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage is being blackmailed with a sex tape. She said so herself during a radio interview. But she says she will not pay.

The video shows Savage having sex with her current boyfriend. “I don’t call it a sex tape myself,” she said in an interview on radio station Power 105.1 on Friday. “It’s a tape with myself and the person I’m currently in a relationship with.”
The blackmailer got his hands on the recording when Savage’s friend accidentally posted it on Snapchat. He quickly removed it when he realized his mistake, but by then the blackmailer had already downloaded it. “I cried when I heard from my manager on Thursday that the recording had been leaked,” Savage said. “But I’m not going to give in to that blackmailer’s demands. Even if I did pay, I have no guarantee whatsoever that the images would not leak out. I’m not going to let anyone blackmail me for doing something that’s very natural.”
The 41-year-old Nigerian singer, who grew up in London, became known through the British factor of X Factor and won an MTV European Music Award in 2018 comes out with the news because she has lost control of the story. “And I’m so mad that I could still make the tape public myself. That person is really not going to make any money from this.” It also drives her boyfriend crazy, according to Savage. “I’m afraid it could hurt my career, but also negatively affect the growing up of her six-year-old son. I don’t want this to cast a dark shadow over everything I’m doing.”
