The government of Prime Minister Mark Rutte (VVD) had already resigned after the elections a few months ago, but the resignation of the two ministers is very annoying, especially for the talks about forming a new government.
Kaag and her left-liberal D66 were considered the big winners of the parliamentary elections. That formation is already very difficult and the Afghan evacuation has thrown even more spanner in the works.
