AfD wants economic area with Russia

The AfD not only wants Germany to leave the European Union, but instead also wants a European economic area with Russia. “We absolutely want talks and compromises when it comes to friendly and financially fair cooperation between all Europeans, including Russia, in a common European economic area,” said AfD spokesman and top candidate Tino Chrupalla of “Welt” (Monday edition). “For us, Russia is part of Europe,” he added.

Before creating a new economic area that includes Russia, Germany must leave the EU: “Germany must leave this unreformable EU, this very hungry caterpillar.” Before the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt next weekend, Chrupalla announced that the AfD would support the other parliamentary groups would offer talks in the state parliament if the AfD were to become the strongest force: “To be the strongest force would mean the government mandate by the voters. We would take advantage of this and offer talks to the other parties, ”said Chrupalla. “We are ready to cooperate and also to make compromises for the benefit of the population in Saxony-Anhalt.” There are similarities in the state with the CDU. Therefore, one can “ask”, says Chrupalla, “how many compromises we should actually have to make”. “There were already content-related overlaps between the CDU and the AfD in Saxony-Anhalt, for example in questions about the radio license fee. Does the CDU just lack the courage to argue with us for Saxony-Anhalt? ”With a view to the decision of the AfD members about the top candidates for the federal election, Chrupalla criticized the other party leader Jörg Meuthen, who was in the competition between the applicant duo from Chrupalla and Alice Weidel on the one hand and Joana Cotar and Joachim Wundrak on the other hand had spoken out in favor of the latter: “I would have liked – and certainly many members – that Jörg Meuthen had been more neutral on this issue,” said Chrupalla.
