The woman, named Julia Holcomb, claims in her complaint that she met Tyler in 1973 at an Aerosmith concert. She was then sixteen years old. The singer, who had just made it big with his band at the time, was 25 years old.
During their first meeting, Holcomb is quoted as saying she was only sixteen. Then they allegedly had sex against his will. After meeting, they met several times. Holcomb writes in his indictment of him that he was “unable to resist Tyler’s fame and money.” You talk about abuse of power.
Both Holcomb and Tyler have already opened up about their relationship. The singer wrote about it in his memoirs, in which he admitted that he was in love with an underage girl at the age of twenty. However, Tyler claims it was a loving relationship. Holcomb says that was out of the question.
Because Holcomb was a minor, he couldn’t just tour with Tyler. The singer then made sure to become his guardian which he also wrote in his bio. “Her parents also fell in love with me and let me become her guardian so I wouldn’t get arrested if I took her on tour,” the singer said in his 2011 book.
Tyler is said to have promised Holcomb’s mother that her underage girlfriend would receive an education. But Holcomb says it didn’t happen, that she continued to abuse her and also regularly dod her with alcohol and drugs.
Singer forced her to have an abortion
In her complaint, Holcomb also writes that she became pregnant in 1975. Tyler then forced an abortion on her, saying he would end the relationship if she didn’t terminate the pregnancy. After doing so, Holcomb left the singer.
Holcomb previously opened up about her relationship with Tyler in a documentary about abuse in the rock music business. “Steven’s world was all sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll. I didn’t know it then, but he almost killed me.”
Tyler or his management have not yet responded to the allegations. The singer made his breakthrough in the seventies with his band Aerosmith and became famous all over the world. The group scored hits with songs like Keep dreaming in I do not wanna Miss a Thing.
