AENA entrusts Empark with the management of the Alvedro car park

AENA has awarded Empark Aparcamientos y Servicios the integral management of parking at 18 airports for an amount of 42.3 million euros, the tender period for which will be five years, with the possibility of two further extensions, reported the operator of the ‘airport.

The airports included in this file are Asturias, Bilbao, A Coruña, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Jerez, La Palma, Lanzarote, Madrid-Barajas, Pamplona, Tenerife North, Tenerife South, Santander, Santiago de Compostela, San Sebastián , Seville , Valladolid and Vigo.

This concession adds to the one awarded to Saba Aparcamientos a month ago, for the integral management of the first lot of ‘car parks’ for 14 airports, for an amount of 42.5 million euros — also for a five-year tender period extendable two more–, files that make up the airports of Barcelona-El Prat, Girona-Costa Brava, Federico García-Lorca Granada-Jaén, Ibiza, Málaga-Costa del Sol, Melilla, Menorca, Murcia-San Javier, Palma de Mallorca , Reus, Valencia and Zaragoza.

In both cases, among the novelties in the dossier, there is the obligation for managers to comply with a service level agreement on the quality of the services provided. The technological modernization and remote management of the service also stand out.

REPAIR AND PASS THE ITV.

The new parking manager of these airports will offer services with “high” added value in some of them, such as the collection and delivery of the vehicle at the terminal, washing, oil changes, small repairs or even the possibility of carrying out the Technical Vehicle Inspection (ITV).

“All of this will guarantee users greater comfort and a high degree of satisfaction, inherent in the request for quality standards that are satisfied with the new management model proposed”, highlighted the institution.

RACE AT 32 AIRPORTS.

In February, AENA tendered the integral parking management service of 32 airports in the network for 102.3 million euros, in two lots. The objective of the airport manager with this tender is to “increase efficiency and achieve greater speed in management processes, promoting quality and reducing the associated cost”.

The institution thus implements a model that includes the management of services and customer service, collection and economic control, maintenance, cleaning and surveillance.

In parallel with the successful tenderer’s management, AENA will directly manage the business, assuming responsibility for product development and definition, promotional actions, reserve management, price management and, lastly, profit and loss optimisation.

This line of business contributed last year to commercial revenues for a total of 91.5 million euros, of which 13.5%.
