Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.5.1: Hardwarebeschleunigtes GPU-Scheduling als Beta

After Nvidia introduced hardware accelerated GPU scheduling (HAGS) with the GeForce 451.48 WHQL, AMD released Adrenaline 20.5.1 as a beta driver with support for the feature. HAGS should enable graphics cards to manage their video memory themselves and thus achieve higher performance.

The feature requires the May update of Windows 10 (version 20H1) and a compatible driver and must be done manually System / Display / Graphics Settings / Standard Graphics Settings to be activated. Microsoft promises “significant improvements in minimum and average FPS“- How big the effect is in practice with different graphics cards is currently still unclear.

AMD’s beta driver is only available for the graphics cards of the Radeon RX 5600 and RX 5700 series. Apart from the support for HAGS, the manufacturer does not list any new features or bug fixes. The Overview page at AMD contains all known bugs as well as the download.

The editorial team would like to thank community members “Udragor” and Max S. for the information on this release.
