ADO Den Haag has to settle for a draw against FC Eindhoven

ADO Den Haag had to settle for a division of points in the home match against FC Eindhoven. After the Hague formation took the lead in the first half through Van Wolfgang’s first goal in The Hague service, the Blauw-Witten managed to come alongside in the second half: 1-1

In the home match against FC Eindhoven, head coach Darije Kalezic opted for a different line-up than in recent matches. Van der Sande returned to the starting line-up after his injury and there was also a place for Esajas and Van Wolfgang. Everything with the aim of preparing ADO Den Haag as best as possible for the matches in the play-offs. Derijck and Vlak were missing from the match selection. The latter has become a father, so he was unable to attend the match.

ADO Den Haag had to deal with a setback after just over ten minutes of play. Unfortunately, captain Surmeli could no longer play and had to be substituted early. Klas was his replacement. Due to the forced substitution, Esajas dropped back a line, allowing Klas to take his place in midfield.

After fifteen minutes of play, the home team scored its first good attempt on goal. Van der Sande put his head against the ball from a cross from Van Wolfgang. Despite the nasty bounce, goalkeeper Brondeel managed to save the ball nicely. The visitors also managed to get an opportunity for the opening goal, but Rottier’s efforts were too high for this.

ADO Den Haag had the upper hand and continued to press forward, which meant that the game often took place in FC Eindhoven’s half. Ultimately, the pressure paid off, after Schalk passed the ball to Van Wolfgang and he coolly scored his first goal from The Hague! In the remaining minutes, Waem, among others, tried from a distance, but unfortunately that was to no avail. As a result, ADO Den Haag deservedly led at halftime: 1-0.

The second half did not start as ADO Den Haag had in mind. The people of The Hague had to concede the equalizer early in the second half, after Limouri was able to head in freely from a corner. Less than ten minutes later, it was the Blues again who had a huge chance. Lieder, who had just come on, saw his effort disappear just wide of Marsman’s goal. FC Eindhoven eagerly took advantage of ADO Den Haag’s defeat, causing Limouri to try to find the ropes again. Marsman responded alertly and thus prevented the visitors from gaining a lead.
