The message was closed because of a new virus strain. However, the decision is again made at the administrative-political level, although purely biologically (epidemiologically, medically – emphasize the necessary) there are most likely no indications for such measures. More precisely, no longer.
The Covid-19 virus mutates, mutates quickly enough. Like any virus. The version of it, which was a year ago in Wuhan, has already changed, and several times. So far, the basis remains the same, and therefore the vaccines created against the first strain are likely to act against its derivatives. But mutations occur constantly, and as always happens – the virus becomes more infectious, but less fatal. Nature is rational: the task of any living creature (although a virus seems to be something between living and non-living) is to reproduce itself as wide as possible, further and longer. And in this sense, a virus, solving the problem of reproducing itself in time and space, always finds the same solution – it kills less and less carriers, but at the same time universalizes, acquiring the ability to use as many carriers as possible for its production. However, this strategy leads to the fact that a virus that has entered an equilibrium state with its food resource – the host species – becomes vulnerable to other competing viruses. In the end, at the top of the food pyramid, he is crowded by a new type of virus, which repeats the entire path of the previous one. This is how, in the end, variability is ensured in the microcosm around us.
Nothing unusual happens this time. In a biological sense, at least exactly. But in the political field, this is a separate and special issue. And most likely, this is where all the answers about that catastrophe (a man-made catastrophe, frankly speaking) are found that fell on us this year. And which will continue next.
