Acura, Honda’s luxury arm, will unveil the production version of the next-generation MDX crossover on December 8. This is stated in official communication press service of the brand. The company stressed that world sales of the car will start early next year.
After a change of generations, the car will move to a new platform and increase in size. The crossover will be equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine, which was equipped with the predecessor of the model. Its characteristics have not yet been disclosed. On the current generation MDX, this unit produces 294 horsepower. The motor will work in conjunction with a ten-speed automatic transmission. Drive – front or full.
Also, the car will receive a “charged” version called MDX Type S. All information about this car is still kept secret. It is possible that the power of such a modification will be 360 horsepower. The sports version will be on sale next summer.
As for the design of the MDX, it will repeat the concept of the same name, which debuted in October this year. The three-row prototype features a panoramic roof, a massive pentagonal diamond-patterned radiator grille, slim JewelEye LED headlights, an embossed bonnet, sports air intakes and 21-inch wheels. The interior of the car was equipped with new sports seats with massage function, a 12.3-inch virtual instrument panel, a multimedia system with a large touchpad and a 1000-watt ELS Studio 3D audio system with 25 speakers.
Acura left the Russian market in 2016. Before that, models MDX, RDX and TLX were sold in our market. There is no information on the possible return of the company to Russia.
