Sirico became famous mainly for negative roles. He played in more than 50 films and, among others, got roles in Woody Allen’s films, such as Shots on Broadway, Mighty Aphrodite or Celebrity. He also appeared in the movies Mafia, Romeo bleeds or Copland.

Sirico, full name Gennaro Anthony Sirico, was born in New York to parents of Italian descent. He grew up in Brooklyn and was arrested and convicted several times in his youth.

In the 1970s, he saw a performance by an acting group made up of ex-convicts in prison, which he says inspired him to try acting.
Sirico had two children, a daughter Joanna and a son Richard.
