Ben Affleck returns as Batman. The 48-year-old actor will star in the new film The Flashdirector Andy Muschietti announced on Friday.
Affleck last starred in the comic book hero figure three years ago Justice League. A year before that, he also wore the Batman cape as character Bruce Wayne Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in Suicide Squad.
In The Flash, which is separate from The Batman (in which Robert Pattinson serves as Batman) and is set to appear in 2022, Ezra Miller will also play the role of superhero Barry Allen.
“Ben is a big part of the emotional impact of the film,” Muschietti said Vanity Fair. “The interaction between Barry and Affleck’s Wayne will bring an emotional level that we haven’t seen before. It’s Barry’s movie, it’s Barry’s story, but their characters are more related than we think.”
