Acting Governor Orders Check on Building Permit for Shophouses ‘Eating’ Road in Pluit, North Jakarta

Acting Governor of DKI Heru Budi Hartono ordered the Mayor of North Jakarta to check the building permit (IMB) for shophouses on Jl Niaga Pluit, Penjaringan, which is called ‘eating’ the shoulder of the road. Heru said the building had been standing for a long time.

Gerindra Asks Satpol PP to Take Action

The Secretary of Commission D DPRD DKI Jakarta from the Gerindra Syarif faction assessed that the shophouses on Jalan Niaga, Pluit, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, which occupy the body of the road violate the rules. Syarif asked the DKI Provincial Government to take action.

“You can see from the regional regulations that this has been violated. There are prohibitions and sanctions for public facilities/social services not being able to build, strategic public facilities/social infrastructure channels for flood control right. It cannot be tolerated for whatever reason,” Syarif told reporters, Friday ( 12/5/2023).

Furthermore, Syarif asked Satpol PP to take action. However, he reminded that the prosecution was carried out in a humane and measurable manner.

“Those who take action against Satpol PP, but in the procedure, the procedure for enforcement is a warning first, a warning letter to warn the building owner to dismantle it himself, warning 1, 2, now warning 3 is SPB’s name, a demolition order,” he said.
