Acer shows ConceptD laptop with SpatialLabs screen for 3D image without glasses – Computer – News

Acer has announced the ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition laptop. That’s Acer’s first product with SpatialLabs screen. This 15.6″ 4k display allows users to view 3D images without the need for 3D glasses.

For the 3d images uses Acer two cameras in the top edge of the screen, which track the eye position and movements of the user’s eyes and head. In addition, an extra screen layer has been added so that two different images can be projected simultaneously, with each image going to a different eye. When the user turns his or her head, the image would adjust to make it look like the user is looking around.

The manufacturer supplies the laptop with the SpatialLabs Model Viewer software, which uses AI to convert 2D images to 3D images. According to Acer, it supports ‘all major 3D file formats’. This program also allows users to adjust lighting, textures and HDRI backgrounds. In addition, there are SpatialLabs Model Viewer add-ons for 3d software such as Autodesk Fusion 360, Rhinoceros and Zbrush. With these add-ons, models from these programs can be transferred to the SpatialLabs Model Viewer software.

There is also the SpatialLabs Go, which can create 3D content from, for example, photos, videos, ‘simple games’ and video meetings. In addition, there is an Unreal Engine plugin. The advantage of SpatialLabs is that, for example, designers can view a 3D design in 3D, without having to print or create the design first, Acer says. Another example is a dealer who can show a car in 3D in a showroom, without the car having to be physically in the showroom.

The ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition gets a 15.6″ 4k display that can display one hundred percent of the Adobe RGB color space and has a delta-E color deviation of less than 2. In addition, the laptop gets up to an Intel Core i7 of the 11th generation, it can be equipped with an Nvidia GeForce 3080 laptop GPU and has up to 64GB of DDR4 memory and up to a 2TB NVMe SSD for storage.

The laptop can be supplied with Windows 11 Pro and has an HDMI 2.1 port, two USB 3.2 Type-C ports that support Thunderbolt 4 and a DisplayPort 1.4 connection. Furthermore, the laptop supports Wi-Fi 6 and the fans of the device produce a maximum of 40dBa noise. The Acer Concept7 SpatialLabs Edition is expected to be on sale in December or January for at least 3499 euros. acer showed the 3d SpatialLabs technique a mei al.
