Accumulated number of cases rises to 595 in the Algarve

The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve has risen to 595 since the beginning of the pandemic, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health of this Saturday, 27 June.

In relation to yesterday’s data from the DGS, today there are 21 new cases in the Algarve region, but, as far as the accounting done by the Regional Health Authority is concerned, there are 19 more.

At the national level, the number of people infected with the new coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic is 41,189, 323 more than yesterday.

As for deaths, there are six more today than yesterday, bringing the cumulative total to 1561. In the Algarve, DGS maintains the same 15 deaths.

In terms of recovered, there are already 26864, 201 more than this Friday.

Today, Saturday, the distribution of cases by region, in numbers accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic: Lisbon and Tagus Valley (18,361, plus 255), North (17,445, plus 4), Center (4080, plus 24), Algarve ( 595, plus 21), Alentejo (467, plus 18), Azores (149, plus 1) and Madeira (92, with no new cases).

Today in the country’s hospitals, there are 442 people hospitalized, 15 fewer than yesterday, 70 of whom were in intensive care (plus 3).

Also according to the epidemiological bulletin, there are 1627 people awaiting laboratory results and there are 31,255 contacts under surveillance by health authorities.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Portugal, there have been a total of 375,490 suspected cases, but 332,674 of them have not been confirmed.
