Accommodation facilities will receive up to 330 crowns per room per day, the government knocked out

Originally, the maximum amount was to be 400 crowns. However, ministers reduced this at Monday’s government meeting.

“More than 95 percent of accommodation facilities had to be closed for 2.5 months due to the coronavirus pandemic and the decline in tourism will have relatively large economic consequences,” Dostálová said.

The support will be in the maximum amount of 330 crowns per room per night, for the period from March 14 to May 24.

Hotels, motels and motels with four to five stars will be eligible for this highest contribution. Three-star operations will be entitled to 300 crowns per room per night. Garni hotels, ie those that do not offer full catering services, will receive compensation of 250 crowns.

Accommodation with one and two stars and guesthouses will be able to ask for 200 crowns per room. Camps, cottage settlements or tourist hostels will be entitled to a subsidy of 100 crowns per room. Camps can only apply for a contribution for accommodation facilities, such as buildings with rooms or cottages.

Applicants for the subsidy will have to waive the exercise of other claims for damages, such as damages, which he might judge. According to some, the cabinet wants to ease any litigation for damages.

Airbnb is not entitled to the contribution

Accommodation that has been closed in the previous two years will not be entitled to the allowance. Accommodations that are short-term Airbnb rentals will not be eligible for the allowance either.

The owners of the facility will probably be able to apply for the subsidy from August. “The applicant fills in the online application form, which will be made available at the same time as the call is announced, and delivers it to the State Investment Support Fund, which will administer the applications,” says the Ministry of Finance.
