The pastry chef who starred in the popular TV show got injured while playing bowling in his home
Valastro would have tried to take the pins by putting his right arm into the mechanism but at that point both the arm and the hand were trapped and compressed by the machine. It was the same “Boss” who announced what had happened by posting a few days later a photo on Facebook from the hospital bed.
Bartolo “Buddy” Valastro is an Italian-American (his father was originally from Lipari), who leads a family of pastry chefs who run the “Pasticceria da Carlo”, a place in Hoboken, New Jersey, which Valastro senior bought. in 1964 by the founder, Carlo Tagliaferro. This is where the nine seasons of “The Cake Boss” are set, in which Buddy and his family are busy making sweets with a great visual impact.
