Italian club AC Milan announced, on Thursday, the inclusion of American star Christian Pulisic on a four-year contract with the club until 2027, with the Rossoneri retaining the option to extend for a fifth season.
Pulisic is the best American player, but he has suffered numerous injuries and has never lived up to Chelsea’s expectations. And he left the London club, despite the fact that he had a year left until the end of his contract.
The American attacking midfielder is set to become the third American to play for AC Milan after Oguchi Onyewu and Serginho Dest.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the club, owned by US investment company Red Bird, paid Pulisic a transfer fee of $22 million. That’s less than a third of what Chelsea paid Borussia Dortmund for Pulisic in 2019.
“I’m very happy to be here. I’m excited. I can’t wait to participate with this historic club,” Pulisic said upon his arrival at Malpensa Airport in Milan, on Wednesday.
AC Milan has won the Champions League seven times and lost to Inter Milan in the Champions League semi-finals last season. He also won the last of his 19 titles in the Italian League in 2022.
