About Shin Tae-yong’s fate in the national team, Iwan Bule: Later

Jakarta

Chairman PSSI Mochamad Iriawan, who is familiarly called Iwan Bule, doesn’t want to talk about fate yet Shin Tae-yong in the Indonesian national team regarding the coach’s discourse to focus on the U-19 national team only.

PSSI plans to ask Shin Tae-yong to focus on the U-19 national team only to prepare for the 2023 U-20 World Cup in Indonesia. The Federation assesses that Korean coaches are overwhelmed with handling various national teams

The plan is to hold a PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) meeting to discuss the fate of Shin Tae-yong. The meeting will be held after Shin Tae-yong returns to Indonesia from Kuwait

“That will be later,” said Iwan Bule when asked about his fate Shin Tae-yong at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Thursday (16/6/2022).

The PSSI plan received sharp attention. There is an impression that the federation wants to rule out Korean coaches because they often make open criticisms of PSSI.

Meanwhile, the football public wants Shin Tae-yong to continue managing the Indonesian national team, not just the U-19 national team. Moreover, Shin Tae-yong is considered the most entitled person to handle the Indonesian national team after leading to the Asian Cup.

PSSI also indicated that it would listen to the public’s wishes. It is possible that Shin Tae-yong will still be given a chance.

“Preparations will be made for sure after this. Coach Shin Tae Yongofficials and managers will prepare for the future,” said Iwan Bule.

“With regard to the Asian cup, of course we hope that three or two of the naturalized players can join later,” he said.
