The first consequences of the return of good weather did not take long to be felt in Haute-Loire. During the last weekends, the gendarmes of the department had intervened, but not in the proportions of Saturday evening.
“Until then there had not been so many parties and especially not so many people”, comments Sabrina Mouëza, the company commander of Yssingeaux. The gendarmes went to several gatherings, including two which brought together between forty and sixty people, in Saint-Julien-Chapteuil and in Mazet-Saint-Voy.
Two birthdays
The first was organized in a private meadow, in Rocherols. The military were notified of this rave party-like anniversary by elected officials in the early evening. They then set up a system to control these young people, mainly locals. They proceeded to verbalizations and remained on site to supervise the party.
“We are also there to protect them, we are not going to let them hit the road again in these conditions”, explains the gendarmerie. The organizer of the rally has been identified and had not yet been heard, late Sunday morning. The rest of the guests were fined, in particular for not respecting the curfew.
Same sanction for the fifty people who had gathered in a lodging in Mazet-Saint-Voy. The gendarmes were this time warned later in the night by residents who complained about the noise. They then went to the site, an old farmhouse converted into lodgings, between Mazet-Saint-Voy and Le Chambon-sur-Lignon.
It is composed of beds and a large room where revelers had gathered, again for a birthday. The organizer of the evening and the person who rented the lodging risk fines of 5e class, up to 1,500 euros.
The Puy-en-Velay prosecutor’s office has confirmed that there will be legal proceedings, as the incidence rate skyrockets in Haute-Loire.
