The State Department “will remain fully committed to facilitating access to reproductive health services and advancing reproductive health rights around the world”the Secretary of State said in a statement.
Mr. Blinken also assured that his services “will do everything possible” so that all State Department employees can access it, “wherever they live”.
“We will not waver with respect to this commitment”he added.
Friday, the very conservative Supreme Court buried the right to abortion, reversing its emblematic judgment “Roe v. Wade” of 1973 and returning to the States the possibility, or not, of prohibiting abortions. At least seven have activated this ban during the day.
Leaders of countries allied with the United States, such as Canada, the United Kingdom and France, have deplored a step backwards with this decision, which places America against the tide of the vast majority of countries, in particular countries developed.
