ABOP topper Joël ‘Bordo’ Martinus has announced that he is observing a moment of rest for the political happening in Suriname for the coming period.
Martinus asks not to associate him with matters of political interests or appointments of third parties. “Unfortunately, I will not be able to cooperate in such matters”.
Bordo and member of the board of directors and parliamentarian Edward Belfort had recently criticized the appointment and retention of NDP members on supervisory boards. Bordo even threatened the To leave ABOP because he is not satisfied with some decisions made by party chairman and vice-president Ronnie Brunswijk.
Last Monday, the party had a structures meeting. It was unanimously decided one to take disciplinary action against Bordo and Belfort. Bordo would be put on hold and Belfort would be called into action. It is not known if this has already happened.
