ABC extends “The Rookie”, “The Goldbergs”, “The Conners” and more – fernsehserien.de

On Friday, ABC signed six more extensions:

They join “Grey’s”, “Seattle Firefighters – The Young Heroes” (OT “Station 19”), “Big Sky” and “The Good Doctor”.

Details

Four of today’s extensions were generally taken for granted, two series were on the verge of continuation.

The extension of „Die Conners“, after it had previously become known that ABC had extended the contracts with the actors – unlike in all other series, the cast of the series was never under a long-term pre-contract, after the series originally goes back to “Roseanne”, whose revival season as Test balloon was viewed. “The Conners” with John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, Alicia Goranson, Michael Fishman, Emma Kenney and Jay R. Ferguson are currently the most successful sitcom on ABC.

The second most successful sitcom, meanwhile, is “The Goldbergs”. Even if the calculation is a little more complicated here, since the series is produced by Sony Pictures TV, the extension was expected for the sitcom.

Also at „Black-ish“, of which ABC also has the spin-off “Mixed-ish” (future still uncertain) in the program and where the sister broadcaster Freeform is running “Grown-ish”, one could expect that the series would get a round finale despite falling audience ratings : The course has now been set for this. “Black-ish” series creator Kenya Barris commented that you could bring the series to the end the way you wanted – which is a rarity these days.

Finally, too, had „The Rookie“ fought with Nathan Fillion in recent years from the initial quota hole and was considered a safe extension candidate: After the four previously extended series listed above, the cop drama is the fifth-strongest drama on ABC in the advertising-relevant target group.

Stand shaky „A Million Little Things“ da: Although the handkerchief drama managed to stay afloat in terms of the ratings, it also occupied the broadcasting slot behind the strongly performing “Grey’s” – which in turn would have given us hopes for better performances. ABC has now again expressed its trust in the series.

The new sitcom „Home Economics“ has not yet fully arrived at ABC, the six episodes previously broadcast put the series in fifth place among seven sitcoms: The series has cheated its way. The format tells of three adult siblings and their respective families. The youngest of the three (played by Jimmy Tatro) is a multi-millionaire after impulsive but successful business decisions, but has just moved to the rest of the siblings near San Francisco after separating from his wife. The oldest (Topher Grace) had published a bestseller novel, but is currently suffering from writer’s block. Three small children contribute. Also to the fact that he has to borrow money from his brother. Money has always been tight with Sarah (Caitlin McGee), the middle child: Professionally and privately, she fights for social justice and underprivileged people – surprisingly, you don’t get rich with it. Now she has also lost her job as a child therapist because of savings. The “twist” of the series is that the author has secretly chosen his siblings as a template for his next book. At ABC you probably have the hope that the sitcom can still develop, because it fits exactly with the comedies that have been shown there in recent years since the success of the “Modern Family”.
