A61 blocked for a long time: Drivers need to know this about the blocking

The A61 motorway has been closed since July 2nd. The section in the direction of Venlo between the Erfttal motorway triangle and the Bergheim-Süd junction is closed for about five months. The reason for the closure of the A61 are rehabilitation measures between the Türnich junction and the Bergheim-Süd junction.

Die Blocking of the A61 is expected to last until Late November 2022 on. The work is expected to be completed by mid-December. During the month of August, the area between the Connection points Bergheim-Süd and Bergheim blocked in the same direction of travel as the A61.

A61 blocked: This is how drivers can avoid the blockage

Motorists from the region can continue to travel between the junctions Gymnich and Türnich drive over the A61. From mid-August, the section between the Türnich junction and the Kerpen motorway junction will be reopened to one lane for regional traffic. In the course of the work, Autobahn GmbH will provide information about further improvements to the traffic routing in the individual sections that may result from the construction process.

Traffic is diverted via the surrounding federal roads and motorways: Autobahn GmbH recommends a bypass route for the nearer area from the Erfttal motorway triangle on the A1 in the direction of Dortmund to stay. From there it is possible to continue via the Köln-Nord motorway junction onto the A57 in the direction of Krefeld. From the Kaarst motorway junction, road users can use the A52 in the direction of Mönchengladbach Continue to the Mönchengladbach motorway junction. From here it is possible to cross onto the A61 in the direction of Venlo.
