A survey indicates that 66% of the inhabitants of Elche are satisfied with the municipal services

Satisfied 66% of the citizens of Elche with municipal public services, a figure that represents 3% more than the national average, and 6 percentage points more than the same barometer made in 2019, according to data from that study carried out by the Urban Services Observatory (OSUR) . All services obtain a rating above the national average and above that of 2019. The most voted service is the water supply with 75% of positive votes, followed by public transport (73%), by the care of parks and gardens ( 66%), street cleaning (64%) and waste collection (63%), according to a note from the Observatory.

The results of the current position of the barometer 2022 Elche in 23rd place in the comparison of the 30 cities included in the study, because if the number of satisfied is high, so too is the number of dissatisfied, whose figure has grown with the resumption of tourism.

In a detailed analysis, the most appreciated municipal public service is the water supply, with 75% satisfaction, a figure that improves by 3% compared to the previous barometer of 2019 and places the city 1 point above the national average. The most voted aspects are the operational management (pressure, continuity of service, functioning of the meters, etc.) with 75% acceptance, while the worst is the quality of the water (taste) with 61% satisfaction. In second place, public transport passes with 73% of satisfied people of Elche, 13% above the national average. The most appreciated, one year more, is the state of cleanliness and conservation of the vehicles with 77% of positive opinions, followed by the frequency of timetables in city buses, with 69% of satisfaction.

rubbish collection receives 63% favorable opinions, 3 points above the national average, and equals the result obtained in the 2019 barometer. What the inhabitants of Elche appreciate most about this service is the frequency of waste collection (66% satisfaction), and the supply and equipment for the provision of the waste and waste collection service (trucks, baskets, equipment, containers), with 62% satisfied.

66% of Elche citizens interviewed are satisfied with the care of parks and gardens and the conservation of public spaces and sports facilities, which places this service 11% above the national average, and in third place among the municipalities analyzed by the IV OSUR Barometer. The aspect that respondents rate best is the quality of park structures and public spaces, with 60% positive ratings. The worst score is the state and equipment of the sports facilities, with a satisfied / dissatisfied ratio of 52/39.

street cleaning maintains the positive perception traced in 2021, with 64% of favorable opinions. This is 12 points above the national average. The most appreciated point, with 61% of users satisfied (although with 34% dissatisfied), is the cleaning of parks and other public facilities. As always, the worst is cleaning up pet droppings, with 45% satisfied and 51% dissatisfied.

For Lorenzo Dávila, director general of OSUR: “The inhabitants of Elche are very satisfied with their municipal public services, they approve them all with flying colors and emphasize the water supply, which is at the top, closely followed by transport. However, the high number of dissatisfied in the overall assessment, shows a polarization in this regardand perhaps some stress on the part of the population regarding services with the return of tourism. The City Council would do well to try to understand this phenomenonor, so that their good services are properly perceived ”.

The results of this fourth edition of the Barometer are the result of a survey conducted by the ODC on a total of 5,210 people and reflect the opinion of the citizens interviewed on municipal public services in the 30 most populated cities in the country: Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, Malaga, Murcia, Palma de Mallorca, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Bilbao, Alicante, Córdoba, Valladolid, Vigo, Gijón, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Vitoria, A Coruña, Granada, Elche, Oviedo, Terrassa, Badalona, ​​Cartagena, Jerez de la Frontera, Sabadell, Móstoles, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Pamplona and Alcalá de Henares.
