Mortada Mansour, Chairman of Zamalek Club, revealed new details about the crisis of the African Super Cup against Esperance.
Zamalek – the champion of the Confederation of Africa – will face his Tunisian rival, Esperance – the African Champions League champion – on the 14th of this month in the framework of the African Super Championship.
The president of the White Castle said in statements on the “Zamalek” screen in the early hours of Saturday morning: “There are two conditions for the Super African match.”
He continued: “The first condition is to obtain the approval of the Egyptian security through running the Esperance match in the Qatari capital, Doha.”
He continued: “As for the second condition, a commitment must be obtained from the Qatari side to ensure the integrity of the team’s mission and that they will not be exposed to any damage.”
Mortada Mansour said during his statements: “I thank Hani Abu Ridah for his coordination of a session that brought together Ahmed Ahmed, President of the African Union, and the delegation of Zamalek, represented by the duo Ahmed Murtada Mansour and Hani Zada.”
He continued: “The African Union announced during this session that if the Qatari side does not make the necessary pledges, the match will be transferred.”
And Mortada Mansour announced earlier that he will hold a press conference tomorrow, Sunday, at the club’s headquarters in Mit Oqba, in order to reveal his position regarding the African Super Cup.
