A study found that the Sinopharm vaccine is safe for children ages 3 to 17

Its effectiveness is yet to be known, which will be evaluated in phase 3 of the investigation. The trial carried out was randomized, double-blind and controlled, and the boys received the two doses 28 days apart.

With regards to safety, they reported that the most common adverse reaction was pain at the injection site, followed by fever, being that “most of the severity was mild to moderate” and they were “transient or resolved within a few days”.

The researchers of this study anticipated that phase three for this age group will be carried out in the United Arab Emirates, where the vaccines will be administered 21 days apart to obtain additional safety, immunogenicity and efficacy data.

Developed by the Beijing Institute of Biological Products, Sinopharm is a monovalent vaccine composed of inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus antigens.

If the analysis is completed successfully, the Chinese vaccine would be added to the Pfizer and the Moderna, already endorsed as pediatric vaccines.

A new shipment with more than 1.5 million Sinopharm vaccines against the coronavirus arrived in the country this Saturday. A total of 1,536,000 doses arrived today at 7:59 p.m. at Ezeiza International Airport from Frankfurt, Germany, on Lufthansa flight LH8264, it was officially reported.

Meanwhile, another shipment, consisting of 1,336,000 doses, will arrive on Monday, at 7, on flight LH540, from the same airline.

Both shipments will add up to a total of 2,872,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine and will aim to “intensify” the immunization that is being deployed throughout the country, the national government reported today.

In this way, with the arrival of these two planes, Argentina will have exceeded the 63 million vaccines received since the start of the vaccination plan.
