Kiev, in connection with the rapid growth in the number of patients with coronavirus, introduces strict restrictions. Lockdown will last three weeks, that is from March 20 to April 9 inclusive.
This was stated by the mayor of the city Vitali Klitschko during a briefing on March 18.

The lockdown in the capital will take effect on Saturday night, that is, March 20, and will be valid until April 9. At this time, theaters and cinemas will be closed in Kiev, restaurants will only be open to take away, and schoolchildren will study remotely after the holidays.

In particular, in Kiev within the next three weeks it will be prohibited:
- the work of cultural institutions, that is, cinemas, theaters, museums, concert halls, etc will not work;
- shopping and entertainment centers will be closed, with the exception of grocery stores, pharmacies, pet stores, stores selling hygiene products and household chemicals;
- conducting religious services, if the area of the premises is not provided for at least 10 m2 per person;
- holding mass events, in particular, entertainment, sports, cultural, advertising and others;
- the presence of spectators at sporting events;
About catering establishments, they can work exclusively “take-away”. Hairdressers, beauty salons work by appointment. Can work fitness and gyms also by appointment, but no group lessons.
In addition, the following restrictions are implemented:
- Gas stations operate in compliance with strict quarantine, the activity of the cafe is prohibited;
- All enterprises and organizations in the public sector are switching to telecommuting;
- Private business should also switch to a remote form of work as much as possible, with the exception of critical infrastructure enterprises.
Relatively schoolchildren in Kiev, then after the holidays they will return to distance learning. At the same time, kindergartens will work during strict quarantine.
Public transport do not stop, but it can work in compliance with strict standards for the carriage of passengers and mask regime. It is about 50% occupancy of the seats.
