A specialized establishment for learning the trades of motorway viability

Trades related to the maintenance of road networks are often misunderstood for lack of appropriate training for those who would be interested. However, all concession companies generally recruit road agents to ensure the safety of motorway users as well as those involved. To meet demand, VINCI Autoroutes has just opened its brand new training center for apprenticeships in motorway maintenance jobs.

200 hour training

Train motorway agents capable of taking charge of the maintenance and securing of motorway networks during the various works carried out there or in the event of incidents such as collisions or vehicles leaving the road. This is VINCI Autoroutes’ objective with the opening of its Motorway Trades School (EMA) at its site in Brive-la-Gaillarde, in Corrèze.

Classes began on April 4 for the very first class. 11 future motorway agents follow a qualifying program of 200 hours spread over three sessions of two weeks each.

A multidisciplinary program with certification and a job at stake

Learners will follow theoretical and practical training focused on missions relating to motorway viability.

These relate to:

  • monitoring users and workers on the motorway;
  • the management of green spaces;
  • operations ensuring the viability of the network in winter;
  • or even training in the installation and removal of beacons.

Accessible to all, the training offered by VINCI Autoroutes gives rise to professional authorizations and certifications recognized by the competent bodies.

At the end of the training, learners will be able to apply for a job in the company. Indeed, the latter has provided about thirty positions for the outgoing.

Another safety program is planned

It is important to note that the agents in intervention are often exposed to accidents, with on average, one van collision per week.

The road and motorway network is therefore a place at risk. It is essential for the people who work there to master the intervention methods in order to constantly improve their conditions and ensure their safety.

In this context, the EMA plans to deliver other training courses dedicated to professionals working on the motorway, such as repairmen.

Note that the risk of accident is the first reason to take out car insurance. The other warranties can be subscribed according to the needs and the use of the vehicle.
