A space show kicked off CineLibri 2019 – 2024-02-18 23:29:26

/ world today news/ On October 5, the spectacular opening ceremony of the fifth edition of CineLibri, the only international film-literary festival, took place in hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture! A dazzling cosmic performance with the special participation of Mila Robert, Denis Popstoev and Georgi Peev transported the audience to the “Fifth Dimension”, or to that spiritual space where the encounter with the creativity of the great minds of mankind inevitably transforms and leads to new discoveries.

“If we quote the Spanish thinker and essayist José Ortega y Gasset, we can rely on a disturbingly simple law. First things are written; then – sensations; finally – ideas. But if there is a magic that turns things, sensations, and ideas into images, that magic is cinema. Cinema is the other incarnation of the book. That translation of her that allows us to rediscover her. And with other senses. And the dimensions in which we reside this year are those of the spirituality that books and cinema create, so vast that even Alexander von Humboldt would struggle to measure it”, said Jacqueline Wagenstein, founder and director of CineLibri, on the occasion of the opening.

After the ceremony, the audience enjoyed the stylish historical drama “An Officer and a Spy” by director Roman Polanski. The 2013 adaptation of Robert Harris’s masterful bestseller was critically acclaimed as a lesson in historical filmmaking and won a standing ovation from the audience in Hall 1. There are ten more days of magnificent book cinema, films about notable artists, meetings with writers, screenwriters and world-class actors. On October 11 at 6:00 p.m. Rita Azevedo Gomez, screenwriter and director of the cinematic masterpiece “The Portuguese Girl”, will present it personally at the Lumiere Lidl cinema. On October 12 is the open meeting with the public of David Lagerkransthe acclaimed Swedish writer who continued Stig Larshon’s “Millennium” trilogy, and on October 17 the prominent Israeli writer arrives here A. B. Yehoshua for the Bulgarian premiere of the novel and the screen adaptation “The Woman from Jerusalem”.

On October 13 at 7:00 p.m. in hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture, the winners of the competition program of the festival, which includes 11 extremely strong titles, will be announced. The prestigious jury chaired by Christophe Lambert will announce this year’s laureate of the grand prize for the most artistic literary adaptation and will present the honorary statuette “Cinelibri”, symbolizing the connection between books and the seventh art. After the solemn ceremony, which will be attended by the other members of the jury, as well as representatives of the embassies and all significant cultural institutes in our country, viewers will be able to see the latest film with the participation of the French star Juliette Binoche – “The one who did not I am”!
