A series of changes to the Hunting Rules come into effect

Hunting outside the set hunting period is an exceptional case, for which the State Forestry Service (VMD) issues a separate administrative act, emphasizes the Ministry of Interior.

With the amendments to the regulations, it is determined that in the future, animals under one year old will also be allowed to be hunted in individual hunts with a threaded barrel hunting firearm, the energy of the projectile at the end of the barrel is not less than 1500 joules, and an expanding bullet.

The Ministry comments that in practice it has been found that foreign hunters, due to lack of information or simply not knowing it, commit violations, and in many situations it is problematic to prosecute these persons. Therefore, the amendments to the Hunting Regulations provide that the responsibility for the violation will henceforth lie with the person who welcomes and accompanies foreign hunters.

VMD continues the transition to electronic circulation of information, therefore, in the future, submission of applications and notification of issued administrative acts in the Forest State Register (MVR) will take place online, using a mobile app corresponding to the functionality of the Forest State Register. This is also provided for by the VMD law.

Amendments to the rules also provide for situations when the hunter himself does not have the opportunity to enter digital data into the MVR, for example, he does not have a smartphone or it is damaged or lost. In such cases, the hunter will be allowed to entrust the entry of the necessary information to another person.

In the future, the MVR system will also ask for a photo of the hunted animal with time and place data regarding the hunted animals. Thus, as the ministry emphasizes, the origin and traceability of every hunted animal will be ensured, including unlimited game species.
