Most Gulf stock markets rose on Sunday to settle in the green zone in the early sessions of the week, while the Bahrain stock market is bucking the trend, supported by the rise in oil prices and the positive economic results of banks and companies in the third quarter 2022.
The Saudi index rose 0.72% to reach the 11521.28 point, in a context of trading of 3.98 billion riyals.
The main Kuwait Stock Exchange indices closed higher at the end of Sunday’s trading; As the primary market index rose 0.95%, the broad index by 0.83% and the major indices by 0.34% and the major 50 by 0.55% from last Thursday’s level, at 56 , 7 million dinars.
The stock index in Qatar rose 0.82% to reach the 12,406.69 point, among 361.14 million riyals traded.
The stock index in Bahrain fell by 0.07% to 1860.84 points, trading at 157.3 thousand Bahraini dinars.
The equity index in the Muscat market rose 0.38% to 4418.09 points in a trading environment of 1.96 million riyals.
The United Arab Emirates stock rose, which closed the last sessions of the week, on Friday, with the Abu Dhabi market index up 1.06% to 10454.94 points, while the Dubai market was rose 0.60% to 3350.47 points, coinciding with the rise in leading shares.
Interestingly, UAE shares are closed on Sundays over the weekend.
Oil prices rose more than five percent on Friday amidst uncertainty about future US interest rate hikes and the imminent EU ban on Russian oil as investors they awaited the prospects of easing China’s restrictions to fight Covid-19.
Brent crude futures rose $ 3.99, to $ 98.57 a barrel at the time of liquidation, and US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose $ 2.96, or five percent, to $ 92.61 per barrel.
