French star Karim Benzema, a Real Madrid player, has not only been crowned with the Ballon d’Or, but will also receive a large cash prize.
According to the Spanish newspaper “AS”, Benzema will receive from his club, Real Madrid, a reward amounting to one million euros for being crowned with the Ballon d’Or, as stipulated in one of the clauses of his current contract.
The newspaper adds that there is also another clause that allows the current contract to be automatically extended until 2024 in the event that Benzema is crowned with the Ballon d’Or.
Benzema will present the Ballon d’Or to Real Madrid fans at the “Santiago Bernabeu” next Saturday in the match against Sevilla in the Spanish league.
