a season 2 for Invasion?

As the final episode lands this weekend, Apple TV + offers a second season to Simon Kinberg’s Invasion

In the audiovisual panorama, Apple TV + is still far from having a dominant position. However, the Cupertino company is not slowing down its efforts to attract new subscribers. She has confidence in her productions, so much so that she has just renewed one of them a few days before her grand finale. Invasion, launched on October 22 on Apple TV +, has visibly met its audience.

As a reminder, the series plunges us into the heart of an alien invasion and follows the characters who relate it. The action of this sci-fi drama takes place across multiple continents. Produced by Boat Rocker Studios, it stars Shamier Anderson (Awake) , Golshifteh Farahani (Tyler Rake), Shioli Kustsuna (Deadpool 2) and Firas Nassar (Fauda). Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) is also part of the journey in the shoes of Jim Bell Tyson.

Simon Kinberg, the creator of the series, did not miss the opportunity to react to this announcement. “I am deeply grateful to Apple for being so supportive every step of the way and for trusting us to create a deeply human and emotional alien invasion story. And above all, I thank our incredible fans without whom we would not have this opportunity to continue the invasion. I’m super excited with what we’re planning for season 2, expanding our universe in the most intimate and epic way possible ”.

But first, we will have to conclude the first season with the last episode. It will be broadcast this Friday on Apple TV +.

No date yet

As you might expect, the project is still at an embryonic stage. The return ofInvasion is therefore not for now. Fortunately, the platform still has many projects in its boxes. We should in particular find the whole band of Ted Lasso on the occasion of a third round of episodes, certainly next summer. On the film side too, there will be something for everyone. Ryan Reynolds should, for example, give the reply to Will Ferrell in a rereading of The Nightmare Before Christmas.
