A Scientist in Australia Willing His Hand Bitten by 5000 Mosquitoes While Researching Dengue Fever

How not, there is a researcher who is willing to let thousands of mosquitoes bite his arm.

How come? What’s the story?

He is Dr Perran Stott-Ross, an entomologist from University of Melbourne, Australia.

Dr. Perran regularly sacrifices his hands as a meal for many mosquitoes in order to launch research on the eradication of dengue fever.

Given his track record, this man has been involved in research on animal objects of mosquitoes at the University of Melbourne for many years.

Now, he is trying to find an effective way to curb the spread of the dengue virus, which is spread among humans through mosquitoes.

A most promising strategy, according to him, is to infect mosquitoes with Wolbachia.
