A resident of Val-de-Reuil files a complaint against Ferrero after the poisoning of her son by a bacterium

A resident of Val-de-Reuil takes legal action. Her 2-year-old son had consumed a Kinder from the Kinder Happy Mix box on April 3. “A dozen hours later, he began to show disturbing symptoms, high fever, diarrhea, vomiting. My client went to the emergency room. And at the end of analyzes, it was detected a bacterium, which is not salmonella. But a bacterium called Campylobacter“, explains Jérémy Kalfon, his lawyer.

“My client wants answers”

Emergencies contacted my client and told her that it was most likely her son’s ingestion of Kinder that could have caused this contamination. In reality, my client knew nothing of the Ferrero scandal at the time, which was in its infancy. It was the emergencies that directed my client towards this track.“, continues Mr. Kalfon.

At this stage, the lawyer emphasizes that there is no link with salmonella. “No salmonella. It is another bacterium in this case that is found in two cases, either milk or meat. But it turns out that this child does not eat meat. So it could only come from the Ferrero product“, details Jérémy Kalfon.

The 2-year-old is still hospitalized. “My client called Ferrero customer service who could not think of anything better to say that it is not normal for a two-year-old child to consume chocolate products and that my client did not have to give this kind of products to her 2 year old son“, adds Me Kalfon. “When consuming a Kinder product, one expects maximum protection. Ferrero’s reaction and the fact that the child is still sick prompted the lady to file a complaint“, concludes the lawyer.
