A remake of Resident Evil 4 is in preparation

In addition to a new Resident Evil, Capcom is said to have launched the development of another remake.

After Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, Capcom could deliver another remake, according to information reported by VGC, which indicates that the M-Two studio, founded in 2017 by Tatsuya Minami, the former CEO of PlatinumGames, would have started the development of a remake of Resident Evil 4.

The news will surprise fans since Capcom has already launched in parallel the development of a eighth episode, which could land in just a few months and would partly take up the Resident Evil 4 formula, with more action-oriented gameplay and an adventure taking place in Europe.

Resident Evil 4 is one of the most beloved episodes of the series. It is therefore not surprising that Capcom offers him a remake. Officially, however, nothing has yet been confirmed by the publisher.

With Resident Evil 4, Capcom had dared to upset the formula of its series, delivering us a game much more focused on action and fantasy.

Note in passing that still according to VGC, the game would be scheduled for 2022, barely a year after the release of Resident Evil 8. The annual formula of the franchise therefore seems to be confirmed since Resident Evil 2 and 3 were already released at a year apart. Like Activision with its Call of Duty series, Capcom seems determined to deliver to us every year a new episode of its horrifying series.

Originally released on Gamecube, Resident Evil 4 had a nice commercial success. The title will be entitled to multiple ports on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC before being released in digital version on the latest generation consoles. One thing is certain, Capcom is not ready to let its catalog get dusty!
